FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of transformation or results can I realistically expect from doing shadow work with you?
With the Alchemy Healing Academy model, you can expect more than just momentary insight. You’ll likely see shifts in how you respond to recurring patterns of fear, shame, or self-sabotage. You’ll feel more embodied—meaning that awareness is not just mental, but felt in your body, nervous system, and daily life. Over time, you should experience greater emotional regulation, clarity about what you want, more aligned action (rather than getting stuck in repeating loops), and deeper self-trust.
Is shadow work safe for me if I’ve had trauma or intense emotional experiences? How do you ensure it doesn’t become overwhelming?
Yes, Alchemy Healing Academy emphasizes a trauma-informed approach. That means they provide a safe container: pacing the work, attending to somatic cues (how your body/nervous system reacts), offering tools for regulation, and integrating as you go rather than just exposing hard material. The goal is not to retraumatize, but to gently support you as you access, feel, integrate, and move forward.
How do I know if I am “ready” for deep shadow work, or what preparation is helpful before I begin?
Readiness doesn’t mean perfect. What helps: some existing self-regulation skills (breathing, grounding, self-care), willingness to be vulnerable, openness to feel discomfort and uncertainty, and clarity about why you want to do the work. It may also help to have some support system—to reflect, integrate and hold space for yourself outside of coaching sessions. A good coach will help you assess readiness and build stability before going deeply. The Alchemy Healing Academy materials often tell prospective clients and coaches alike about these prerequisites.
The main difference is depth. Regular life coaching or mindset work often stays at the level of goals, habits, beliefs, affirmations—helpful, but sometimes superficial. Shadow work goes to the underlying unconscious patterns—fears, shame, parts of self you may have disowned or suppressed—and works with the body, nervous system, and emotional healing. Alchemy Healing Academy methodology explicitly combines mindset + embodiment + shadow integration, rather than stopping at awareness or habits. That means you aren’t just “thinking differently” but becoming differently—integrating more of who you are so change can stick.
To get deep, lasting transformation, you’ll likely need regular sessions plus doing integration work in between. That might include journaling, somatic practices (body work, breathwork, grounding), reflection, applying insights, sometimes doing uncomfortable inner work outside of sessions. Expect that sessions will bring up stuff; integration (rest, reflection, applying) is where growth really stabilizes. If you’re working with Alchemy Healing Academy, they offer modules, group/live immersion, and ongoing feedback or community to support that effort.
